AEW Collision July 30 2026 – Introduction
AEW Collision July 30 2026 marked a special Thursday night edition of AEW’s weekly television program. The show emanated from the Masonic Temple Theatre in Detroit, Michigan, and was broadcast live on TNT and HBO Max. Therefore, this episode couldn’t have been more timely for AEW, as rivalries heated up leading into AEW All In: London at Wembley Stadium.
The July 30 Collision card featured several matches directly related to the fallout from Dynamite. Consequently, fans were treated to exciting matches and significant storyline developments throughout the night.
A highlight was Will Ospreay versus Daniel Garcia, a high-profile singles tussle that flowed from Ospreay’s shocking departure from the Death Riders. Meanwhile, we saw an eight-man tag between the Bang Bang Gang and Death Riders, an AEW World Trios Championship match, a loaded women’s trios match, and Komander taking on Jay Lethal.

This was a special Thursday edition of the show, not the usual Saturday slot. Furthermore, according to the official AEW event listing, Collision aired after Dynamite in the Detroit back-to-back shows.
Will Ospreay vs. Daniel Garcia
The pay-per-view singles match between Will Ospreay and Daniel Garcia was considered by many to be the most personal match on the card.
Ospreay came out on live TV on Dynamite showing his disdain for the Death Riders. After the group attacked him, Ospreay rejected his Death Riders patch, returned it to Jon Moxley, and hit him with a Hidden Blade. Consequently, Garcia came at him for a match on Collision.
This match was important because Ospreay is gearing up for a career-defining AEW World Championship match with Kenny Omega at All In: London. Therefore, Garcia had a chance to show Ospreay exactly what he was missing.
Their knowledge of each other should result in an interesting physical and technical contest. Furthermore, both know what the other can do, and as such counters and tactics were likely to play a part.
Bang Bang Gang vs. Death Riders
One of the highlights of the event was the eight-man tag team match between the Bang Bang Gang and the Death Riders.
The Bang Bang Gang lineup included Ace Austin, Austin Gunn, Colten Gunn, and Juice Robinson. They battled against Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, and PAC of the Death Riders.
The rivalry between the Bang Bang Gang and the Death Riders escalated when the Gang challenged them to a match. Therefore, this time the match involved eight competitors.
This pairing brought together two very distinct personalities and philosophies. The Death Riders brought a brutal and relentless attitude. Meanwhile, the Bang Bang Gang brought confidence, quickness, and an “anything can happen” style.
With so many competitors, the contest could get out of hand very quickly. Consequently, much could happen including tags, distractions, outside interference, and momentum shifts.

AEW World Trios Championship Match
The AEW World Trios Championship was also defended on this night.
The Demand (Ricochet, Toa Liona, and Bishop Kaun) defended their titles against The Rascalz (Dezmond Xavier, Zachary Wentz, and Myron Reed).
The championship situation turned around just one night earlier when The Demand upset The Conglomeration for the trios titles. Therefore, they had an immediate defense of these titles to open their reign.
The Rascalz had yet another reason to be confident, as they defeated The Demand in The Mile High Madness event earlier in the year. Consequently, if they could do the same again, the AEW titles would be theirs.
This set up an intriguing dynamic. The Demand was eager to get their reign as champions underway as early as possible. Meanwhile, The Rascalz had a good chance of halting the previous victory and clinching the championship.
Women’s Trios Match
On the women’s side, Collision had yet another fantastic trios match.
ROH Women’s World Champion Athena, Billie Starkz, and Diamant took on Jamie Hayter and Alex Windsor of the Brawling Birds, and HAZUKI.
There were many narratives to be played out. The Brawling Birds had their eyes set on the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Champions. However, they would have to get through Athena and her faction first.
Including HAZUKI in the mix made another lethal ingredient. Her alliance with Hayter via STARDOM’s Oedo Tai charter group ensured that these three would be a dynamic trio. Consequently, with Athena in the team, the match was sure to be fiercely competitive.
With several skilled wrestlers on the card, this was one of the most intriguing matches of the night.
Kris Statlander Returns to Action
Kris Statlander also appeared on this week’s Collision on July 30.
Her return to the ring came after an important event on Dynamite. Statlander made her way back to aid Maya World in successfully retaining the TBS Championship. Therefore, the rival moment had a personal touch to it since Persephone had previously denied Statlander TBS gold and Survival of the Fittest.
Collision marked a return to action for Statlander for the first time since that brutal loss. Consequently, the excitement of her upcoming performance was heightened.

Komander vs. Jay Lethal
A singles match also took place as Komander took on longstanding veteran Jay Lethal.
Komander came into the match hot after a great showing against AEW Continental Champion Jon Moxley on Dynamite. Although he didn’t come away victorious, the crowd in Detroit gave the match a great response.
Lethal was a whole new challenge. He brought experience, ring smarts, and skillful game playing that could test any high-flying wrestler. Therefore, Komander needed to take advantage of his quickness and aerial offense. Meanwhile, Lethal might try to keep the match on the mat and slow it down.
Motor City Machine Guns Join AEW
The most unexpected thing to happen by far began in the very first minute.
When Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin arrived at the Masonic Temple Theatre in front of a rabid Detroit crowd, the duo of longtime partners discussed their ties to Detroit. Then they revealed what had been teased all month – and officially became All Elite.
The release felt like a natural fit because Detroit automatically makes people think of the Motor City Machine Guns. Furthermore, Shelley and Sabin addressed how there was no better place for them to kick off their AEW journey than in their current neighborhood.
Their debut instantly brought a new talented pair to an already thriving AEW tag team division. Consequently, with AEW titles on the line in every corner of the promotion, this may be the Motor City Machine Guns ruling the roost in the tag division.
The Demand Retain the Trios Championship
The match prior to intermission was a battle for the AEW World Trios Championship. The Demand (Ricochet, Toa Liona, Bishop Kaun) took on The Rascalz.
With new champions, The Rascalz knew they wanted to keep hold of the belts as long as possible. However, The Demand defended furiously against the seasoned champions. The Rascalz didn’t slow down, finding new ways to put together controlled teamwork and putting the champions in numerous crisis.
Ricochet continued to display his high-flying athleticism with an absurd leap over the top rope to the outside of the ring early on. Therefore, the match was quickly turning into an entertaining fast-paced contest.
Prior to the final bell, The Demand trapped Dezmond Xavier away from the team and executed their finishing maneuver. Bishop Kaun got the pinfall and The Demand held onto the AEW World Trios Championship in 11:26.
Continental Cup Tournament Announced
Furthermore, another important step was the establishment of the AEW Continental Cup.
During his ESPN interview, Tony Schiavone said that the AEW World Title tournament would have 16 competitors in single-elimination. The tournament was set to begin on Collision and finish at AEW All In.
The tournament was promoted as being based on the FA Cup in England, with competitors progressing through rounds. Furthermore, Jon Moxley was also listed as a competitor, further raising the ante as he holds the current Continental Championship.
The announcement closed out AEW’s first half of the year with another huge tournament storyline. Consequently, it gave many wrestlers an opportunity to earn a big world title match.

Main Storylines to Watch
There were numerous high-profile AEW stories going into the July 30 Collision that made it a special occasion.
Most significant was the repercussions of Will Ospreay’s exit from the Death Riders. His bout with Garcia was a test of whether Ospreay could get away from the faction and ready himself for a shot at the AEW World Championship.
The Death Riders were also still looking for revenge on Bang Bang Gang. Therefore, their eight-man tag match was a further major storyline development.
In other news, The Demand started their AEW World Trios Championship reign under the watchful eyes of The Rascalz. Meanwhile, the women’s trios match involved a bunch of women with title aspirations and current feuds. Furthermore, the return of Kris Statlander brought another personal element to the show.
What Comes Next for AEW
The Collision July 30 episode led to a few big directions for the rest of AEW.
The recently signed Motor City Machine Guns quickly jumped into the tag team division. The Demand held onto the Trios Championship but will have to fend off Hangman Page, Brody King, and Bandido at Grand Slam Mexico.
The Continental Cup also gave AEW another tournament storyline that will run towards All In. Meanwhile, Will Ospreay defeated Daniel Garcia only to be attacked by Mark Davis. This will culminate in a Mexico City Street Fight.
Kris Statlander picked a fight with Persephone. Furthermore, Kyle Fletcher and Mike Bailey continued their title battle. Consequently, AEW had a handful of promising storylines to follow up on after the July 30 edition of Collision.
Final Thoughts
AEW Collision July 30 2026 was not just an ordinary weekly wrestling event. This show featured the Motor City Machine Guns making their AEW debut in Detroit, several critical matches, and high-profile bouts leading into Grand Slam Mexico.
The Demand made history as they kept their AEW World Trios Championship. The Bang Bang Gang defeated the Death Riders. Kris Statlander made her return. Komander kept chugging along.
In the opening match of the evening, Will Ospreay emerged victorious over Daniel Garcia. However, Ospreay’s performance was cut short as Mark Davis brought his own fire to the ring following the match. Ospreay now has the task of facing Davis in a Mexico City Street Fight.
